Oh dear. As if Annie Leibovitz's photos of the royal great grandkids weren't enough, we now have these happy snaps of Little Lord Fauntleroy greeting the Obamas in what appears to be a smoking jacket.   How bizarre are these Windsor progeny who all look like they've just escaped from an Emily Bronte hardcover?   Can someone please employ a stylist who might afford these kiddos some opportunity to actively engage in the 21st century? Does your mind ever take you back to a time here in Oz when people largely went about their lives and business in a satisfied manner, when migrants and 'new' Australians contributed to our culture and economy fruitfully...away from ghettos and enclaves, when we all showed a basic recognition for one another through good manners and 'respect', when our support agencies, like Centrelink, attempted to look after the disadvantaged and the marginalised and were not hampered by an enormous number of 'bludgers' and ne'er-do-wells, and when the future was in our own hands?   My mind goes back to that golden age.   And the nearest I can 'peg' that time is roughly about five minutes ago.
